Mothers to Makers Pitch Deck
Fall 2024
About:
My Botanical Store Project is located on a historic property, Liberty Station in San Diego. We worked in teams of four to establish an owner/business profile and project program. My team imagined and created a parent company, Mothers to Makers, which recognizes the pivotal role that mothers and family-owned businesses play in the ongoing process of building a strong community and the important role we as designers play as we engage in active community involvement.
My team emphasized a commitment to supporting businesses that embody tradition, timeless craftsmanship, and heritage. Our mission was to empower these businesses while promoting sustainable practices that benefit both society and the environment. Each of my team members created a business that honors the principles of our parent company, Mothers to Makers.
What I did:
My business was a Botanical Store with supporting educational classes, held in the garden next to my store. I designed the Mothers to Maker logo, helped create the concept statement, a personal artistic expression, did the historical research about the site and the defining characteristics of the barracks, created the concept of our dynamic art installation, and created the design, renderings, and construction drawings for my Botanical Store and the adjoining garden space which hosts the education classes.
